Heinrich d'Arrest
Heinrich d'Arrest was a German astronomer born on March 13, 1822, in Bremen. He is best known for his discovery of the comet Tempel–Tuttle in 1858, which is the parent comet of the Leonids meteor shower. D'Arrest's work contributed significantly to the field of astronomy during the 19th century.
In addition to his comet discovery, d'Arrest collaborated with other prominent astronomers, including Johann Gottfried Galle, who was involved in the discovery of Neptune. D'Arrest also made important contributions to the study of double stars and the measurement of stellar positions, enhancing our understanding of the universe.
