Heel Spurs
Heel spurs are bony growths that develop on the underside of the heel bone, often as a result of repetitive stress or strain on the foot. They can occur in conjunction with conditions like plantar fasciitis, which causes pain in the heel and bottom of the foot. Heel spurs can be detected through X-rays and are typically associated with inflammation.
Many people with heel spurs experience discomfort, especially when walking or standing for long periods. Treatment options include rest, ice, stretching exercises, and orthotic devices. In severe cases, medical interventions such as corticosteroid injections or surgery may be considered.
