Hartz IV
Hartz IV is a social welfare program in Germany designed to provide financial support to unemployed individuals and low-income families. It was introduced in 2005 as part of a series of labor market reforms known as the Hartz reforms. The program offers basic financial assistance to help cover living costs, including housing and health insurance.
Recipients of Hartz IV must actively seek employment and may be required to participate in job training or other integration measures. The program aims to reduce long-term unemployment and encourage individuals to re-enter the workforce while ensuring a minimum standard of living.
