Hartebeest
The Hartebeest is a large antelope found in the grasslands and savannas of eastern and southern Africa. It is known for its long legs, elongated face, and distinctive curved horns, which can grow up to 30 inches in males. Hartebeests are social animals, often seen in herds, and they primarily feed on grasses.
There are several species of hartebeest, including the Coke's hartebeest and the Lichtenstein's hartebeest. They are well-adapted to their environment, capable of running at high speeds to escape predators like lions and hyenas. Hartebeests play a vital role in their ecosystem by grazing and helping to maintain the grasslands.
