Harold Shipman
Harold Shipman was a British general practitioner who became one of the most notorious serial killers in history. He was born on January 14, 1946, and worked in the town of Hyde, England. Shipman was convicted in 2000 of murdering 15 of his patients, although it is believed that the actual number of victims could be much higher.
His method involved administering lethal doses of diamorphine, a powerful painkiller, to his patients, often elderly women. Shipman's actions raised significant concerns about the medical profession and led to changes in how doctors are monitored and how prescriptions are managed in the UK. He died by suicide in prison in 2004.
