Harmonists
Harmonists were members of a religious community founded in the early 19th century by George Rapp in the United States. They sought to create a utopian society based on communal living, shared resources, and strict adherence to their spiritual beliefs. The community emphasized harmony with nature and each other, rejecting materialism and individualism.
The Harmonists established several settlements, the most notable being in Harmony, Pennsylvania, and later in New Harmony, Indiana. Their way of life included farming, craftsmanship, and a focus on education. The community eventually dissolved in the 1820s, but their ideals influenced later social movements.
