Hantavirus
Hantavirus is a type of virus primarily spread through contact with rodent droppings, urine, or saliva. It can also be transmitted when people breathe in aerosolized particles from these materials. The most common form of the disease caused by hantavirus is Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), which can lead to severe respiratory issues.
Symptoms of HPS typically begin with fever, muscle aches, and fatigue, followed by difficulty breathing as the disease progresses. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial, as HPS can be life-threatening. Preventive measures include avoiding contact with rodents and maintaining clean living environments.
