Hans Albrecht Bethe
Hans Albrecht Bethe was a German-American physicist born on July 2, 1906, in Strasbourg, France. He is best known for his work in nuclear physics and astrophysics, particularly for explaining how stars produce energy through nuclear fusion. His research contributed significantly to our understanding of stellar processes and the formation of elements in the universe.
In addition to his contributions to astrophysics, Bethe played a crucial role in the development of the atomic bomb during World War II as part of the Manhattan Project. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1967 for his work on nuclear reactions, solidifying his legacy in the field of physics. Bethe passed away on March 6, 2005.
