Hanns Martin Schleyer
Hanns Martin Schleyer was a prominent German businessman and industrialist, born on 1 October 1915. He served as the president of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and was known for his influential role in the post-war economic recovery of West Germany. Schleyer was a key figure in promoting industrial growth and fostering relationships between businesses and the government.
In 1977, Schleyer was kidnapped by the Red Army Faction, a left-wing terrorist group. His abduction was part of a larger campaign against the German establishment. Tragically, he was murdered later that year, which led to widespread public outrage and a crackdown on domestic terrorism in Germany.
