Hand Sanitization
Hand sanitization is the process of cleaning hands using a product, typically a hand sanitizer, to reduce the number of germs. This is especially important in preventing the spread of infections, as hands can easily transfer bacteria and viruses from surfaces to the mouth, nose, or eyes. Hand sanitizers usually contain alcohol, which is effective in killing many types of germs.
To properly sanitize hands, apply a sufficient amount of hand sanitizer to cover all surfaces of the hands. Rub the hands together for at least 20 seconds, ensuring that the sanitizer reaches between the fingers and under the nails. This practice is a convenient alternative when soap and water are not available.
