Haitian Senate
The Haitian Senate is the upper house of the Parliament of Haiti, responsible for making laws and overseeing the government. It consists of 30 senators who serve for six-year terms, with half of the seats up for election every three years. This structure allows for continuity while also enabling regular input from the electorate.
Senators are elected by the citizens of Haiti and represent various regions of the country. The Haitian Senate plays a crucial role in approving legislation, ratifying treaties, and providing checks and balances on the executive branch, ensuring that the government remains accountable to the people.
