Haitian Geography
Haiti is located on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean Sea, sharing the island with the Dominican Republic. The country covers an area of approximately 27,750 square kilometers, making it the third-largest nation in the Caribbean. Haiti's landscape is characterized by rugged mountains, fertile valleys, and coastal plains, with the highest peak being Pic la Selle.
The climate in Haiti is tropical, with a wet season from April to October and a dry season from November to March. The country is prone to natural disasters, including hurricanes and earthquakes, due to its geographical location. Major rivers, such as the Artibonite River, flow through the country, providing essential water resources.
