HOPE Act
The HOPE Act, or the "HIV Organ Policy Equity Act," was enacted to improve the availability of organs for transplantation from HIV-positive donors. This legislation allows for the use of organs from individuals with HIV for patients who are also HIV-positive, addressing the shortage of available organs and promoting better health outcomes for this population.
By facilitating organ transplants from HIV-positive donors, the HOPE Act aims to reduce stigma and enhance the quality of life for those living with HIV. It also encourages research and collaboration among medical professionals to ensure safe and effective transplantation practices.
