HGV
An HGV, or Heavy Goods Vehicle, is a type of motor vehicle designed to transport large quantities of goods. These vehicles typically have a gross vehicle weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes and are commonly used in logistics and transportation industries. HGVs include trucks, lorries, and certain types of vans that are built to carry heavy loads over long distances.
To operate an HGV, drivers must obtain a special license known as a HGV license. This ensures they are trained to handle the unique challenges of driving larger vehicles, such as maneuverability and safety regulations. HGVs play a crucial role in the supply chain, delivering products to businesses and consumers.
