HFS Plus
HFS Plus, or Hierarchical File System Plus, is a file system developed by Apple for use in its operating systems, including macOS and iOS. It is designed to manage files and directories on storage devices, providing features like support for large file sizes and improved data integrity. HFS Plus also allows for case-sensitive file names, enhancing organization and accessibility.
Introduced in 1998, HFS Plus replaced the earlier HFS (Hierarchical File System) and has been widely used in Apple products. It supports various file attributes and metadata, making it suitable for modern computing needs. HFS Plus has since been succeeded by APFS (Apple File System) but remains relevant for compatibility with older systems.
