Hòa Bình Dam
The Hòa Bình Dam is a large hydroelectric dam located on the Da River in Hòa Bình Province, Vietnam. Completed in 1994, it is one of the largest dams in the country, with a total installed capacity of 1,920 megawatts. The dam plays a crucial role in providing electricity to the northern regions of Vietnam and helps regulate water flow for irrigation and flood control.
In addition to its energy production, the Hòa Bình Dam creates a large reservoir that supports local ecosystems and provides recreational opportunities. The dam is also significant for its role in promoting economic development in the surrounding areas, contributing to both agriculture and tourism.
