Guillemots
Guillemots are seabirds belonging to the family Alcidae, which also includes puffins and murres. They are known for their striking black and white plumage and are typically found in the northern hemisphere. Guillemots are excellent divers, using their wings to propel themselves underwater while hunting for fish and other marine life.
These birds are often seen nesting on steep cliffs, where they lay their eggs on bare rock to avoid predators. Guillemots are social creatures, often forming large colonies during the breeding season. Their unique vocalizations and behaviors make them fascinating subjects for birdwatchers and researchers alike.
