Guido Cagnacci
Guido Cagnacci was an Italian painter born in 1601 in Santarcangelo di Romagna. He is known for his dramatic use of light and shadow, a technique called chiaroscuro, which adds depth and emotion to his works. Cagnacci's paintings often depict religious themes, mythological subjects, and portraits, showcasing his skill in capturing human expression.
Cagnacci spent much of his career in Rome and later in Vienna, where he gained recognition for his unique style. His notable works include "The Death of Cleopatra" and "Saint Mary Magdalene," which reflect his ability to blend realism with theatricality. He passed away in 1681, leaving a lasting impact on Baroque art.
