Guanacaste Conservation Area
The Guanacaste Conservation Area is a protected region in northwestern Costa Rica, covering over 147,000 hectares. Established in 1994, it aims to preserve the diverse ecosystems of the area, including tropical dry forests, wetlands, and volcanic landscapes. The conservation area is home to a variety of wildlife, including endangered species like the Jaguars and Scarlet Macaws.
This area is part of a larger initiative to connect different national parks and reserves, promoting biodiversity and ecological health. The Rincón de la Vieja National Park and Santa Rosa National Park are key components of this network, providing habitats for numerous plant and animal species.
