Group Action
Group action refers to a legal procedure where a group of individuals collectively brings a lawsuit to address a common issue. This approach allows people with similar claims, such as those affected by a defective product or unfair business practices, to join forces, making it more efficient and cost-effective than filing individual lawsuits.
In a group action, one or more representatives act on behalf of the entire group, known as the class. The outcome of the case typically applies to all members of the group, which can include individuals, organizations, or even entire communities affected by the same situation, such as consumer fraud or environmental damage.
