Grid-Tied Systems
A Grid-Tied System is a type of solar power setup that connects directly to the local electricity grid. This system allows homeowners to generate their own electricity using solar panels while still having access to utility power when needed. If the solar panels produce more energy than the home uses, the excess electricity can be sent back to the grid, often earning credits or payments through net metering.
These systems do not require batteries for energy storage, making them more cost-effective and simpler to install. However, during a power outage, a grid-tied system will not provide electricity unless it has a backup feature, as it relies on the grid for operation.
