Gregorio del Pilar
Gregorio del Pilar was a Filipino general during the Philippine-American War, known for his bravery and leadership. Born on November 14, 1875, in Binalatongan, he became one of the youngest generals in the Philippine Revolutionary Army. Del Pilar played a significant role in the fight for Philippine independence from Spanish colonial rule and later against American forces.
He is best remembered for his defense of Tirad Pass in December 1899, where he and his troops faced overwhelming odds. Del Pilar's courageous stand allowed the main forces of the Philippine Republic to escape, making him a national hero and symbol of resistance in the Philippines.
