Green Monkey
The Green Monkey, also known as the vervet monkey, is a species of Old World monkey found primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. They are easily recognizable by their greenish-gray fur, white whiskers, and distinctive black face. These monkeys are social animals, often living in groups called troops, which can consist of up to 50 individuals.
Green monkeys are primarily herbivorous, feeding on fruits, leaves, and seeds, but they also consume insects and small animals. They are known for their agility and intelligence, often using tools to access food. Their adaptability to various habitats, including savannas and forests, contributes to their widespread presence in the region.
