Greek kylix
A Greek kylix is a type of ancient drinking cup used in Greece, particularly during the 5th century BCE. It features a shallow bowl with a wide rim and two horizontal handles on either side. Kylixes were commonly made from clay and often decorated with intricate paintings that depicted scenes from mythology, daily life, or athletic competitions.
These cups were primarily used for drinking wine during social gatherings known as symposia. The design of the kylix allowed for easy handling and sipping, making it a popular choice for toasting and enjoying beverages in ancient Greek culture.
