Greek Military Equipment
Greek military equipment primarily included items like the hoplon, a large round shield used by infantry soldiers known as hoplites. These shields were made of wood and covered with bronze, providing protection in battle. The dory, a long spear, was another essential weapon, allowing soldiers to engage enemies from a distance.
In addition to shields and spears, Greek soldiers wore armor such as the linothorax, made from layers of linen, and the bronze cuirass, which offered better protection. The chiton, a tunic worn underneath armor, was common among soldiers. Together, these items formed the backbone of the ancient Greek military.
