Greek Catholicism
Greek Catholicism refers to the Eastern Catholic Churches that follow the Byzantine rite while maintaining communion with the Roman Catholic Church. These churches are primarily found in regions such as Greece, Turkey, and parts of the Middle East. They celebrate the same sacraments and share core beliefs with Roman Catholics but have distinct liturgical practices and traditions.
The largest group within Greek Catholicism is the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, which has a significant presence in Syria and Lebanon. Greek Catholics often use the Greek language in their liturgies and emphasize the importance of both tradition and modernity in their faith practice.
