Greater Sabbats
The term "Greater Sabbats" refers to eight significant festivals celebrated in various pagan traditions, particularly within Wicca. These festivals mark the changing seasons and the cycles of nature, aligning with the solar and lunar calendars. The Greater Sabbats include Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas, and Mabon.
Each Greater Sabbat has its own unique themes and rituals, often celebrating life, death, fertility, and harvest. These festivals serve as a way for practitioners to connect with the earth, honor deities, and reflect on the passage of time. They are integral to the spiritual practices of many who follow paganism or neo-paganism.
