Ringtail Possum
The Ringtail Possum is a small marsupial native to Australia and New Guinea. It has a distinctive long, prehensile tail that helps it balance while climbing trees. These possums have a grayish-brown fur coat and large, expressive eyes, making them well-adapted for nocturnal life. They primarily feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers.
Ringtail possums are social animals, often living in family groups. They build nests, called dreys, in tree hollows or dense foliage for shelter. Their unique ability to glide between branches allows them to navigate their forest habitats efficiently, making them an important part of the ecosystem.
