The Great Pyramids of Giza are three ancient pyramids located on the Giza Plateau near Cairo, Egypt. They were built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Egypt, around 2580 to 2560 BCE. The largest pyramid, known as the Great Pyramid of Khufu, is the most famous and originally stood at 146.6 meters (481 feet). These structures served as tombs for pharaohs and were constructed using millions of limestone blocks.
The other two pyramids are the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure. The Pyramid of Khafre appears taller due to its elevated location and still has some of its original casing stones at the top. The **Pyramids
