Great Cormorant
The Great Cormorant is a large waterbird found in coastal and inland waters across Europe, Asia, and North America. It has a long neck, a hooked bill, and dark plumage, which can appear glossy green or blue in sunlight. These birds are excellent divers, using their strong bodies to catch fish underwater.
Great Cormorants typically nest in colonies on cliffs, trees, or islands. They are known for their distinctive drying behavior, where they spread their wings to dry after diving. Their diet mainly consists of fish, and they play an important role in aquatic ecosystems by helping to control fish populations.
