Grass Snake
The Grass Snake is a non-venomous snake commonly found in Europe and parts of Asia. It typically has a green or brown body with a lighter underside and can grow up to 1.5 meters in length. Grass snakes are often seen near water bodies, as they are excellent swimmers and feed primarily on amphibians, such as frogs and toads.
These snakes are known for their distinctive yellow or white collar behind the head. During the breeding season, which occurs in spring, females lay eggs in warm, damp places. Grass snakes play an important role in controlling the population of their prey, contributing to the balance of their ecosystem.
