Grand National Party
The Grand National Party (GNP) was a political party in South Korea, established in 1997. It emerged from the merger of the New Korea Party and the Democratic Party, aiming to represent conservative values and promote economic growth. The GNP played a significant role in South Korean politics, particularly during the early 2000s.
In 2012, the GNP rebranded itself as the Saenuri Party, reflecting a shift in its political strategy. The party has been associated with various leaders, including former President Lee Myung-bak, and has focused on issues such as national security and economic reform throughout its history.
