Democratic Party of Korea
The Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) is a major political party in South Korea, founded in 2014. It emerged from a merger of several progressive parties and aims to promote social justice, economic equality, and democratic governance. The DPK has been associated with policies that support welfare expansion and labor rights.
The party gained prominence in the 2017 presidential election when Moon Jae-in became the first DPK candidate to win the presidency. Since then, the DPK has focused on issues such as inter-Korean relations, environmental sustainability, and reforming the political system to enhance transparency and accountability.
