Grand Duke Jogaila
Grand Duke Jogaila, also known as Władysław II Jagiełło, was a significant historical figure in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. He became the Grand Duke of Lithuania in 1377 and later the King of Poland from 1386 until his death in 1434. His reign marked the beginning of the Jagiellonian Dynasty, which played a crucial role in the political landscape of Central and Eastern Europe.
Jogaila is best known for his pivotal role in the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, where his forces defeated the Teutonic Knights. This victory solidified his power and expanded the influence of both Lithuania and Poland. His marriage to Queen Jadwiga of Poland helped to unite the two nations, fostering a long-lasting alliance that shaped the region's history.
