Governors-General
A Governor-General is a representative of the monarch in a country that is part of the Commonwealth of Nations. They perform ceremonial duties and ensure that the government operates according to the constitution. The Governor-General is appointed by the monarch on the advice of the Prime Minister of the respective country.
In addition to ceremonial roles, the Governor-General has certain constitutional powers, such as giving royal assent to legislation and appointing judges. They act as a bridge between the monarchy and the government, promoting national unity and representing the country in diplomatic matters.
