Governor-General of Australia
The Governor-General of Australia is the representative of the monarch in Australia, currently King Charles III. This position is appointed by the monarch on the advice of the Prime Minister of Australia and serves as the head of state in Australia. The Governor-General performs various ceremonial duties, signs legislation, and represents Australia at official events.
The role also includes overseeing the functioning of the Australian Government and ensuring that the Constitution is upheld. The Governor-General can summon and dissolve Parliament, and their actions are generally guided by the advice of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.
