Governor of Kentucky
The Governor of Kentucky is the head of the state government and is responsible for enforcing state laws, overseeing the executive branch, and managing the state's budget. The governor also has the power to sign or veto legislation passed by the state legislature, which is known as the Kentucky General Assembly.
Elected to a four-year term, the governor can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The current governor, as of October 2023, is Andy Beshear, a member of the Democratic Party. The governor's office is located in the state capital, Frankfort.
