Andy Beshear is an American politician serving as the Governor of Kentucky. He took office on December 10, 2019, after winning the gubernatorial election. Beshear is a member of the Democratic Party and previously served as the Attorney General of Kentucky from 2016 to 2019. Born on November 29, 1977, in Louisville, Kentucky, Beshear graduated from University of Kentucky and earned his law degree from University of Chicago. He is known for his focus on issues such as healthcare, education, and economic development in the state. Beshear is the son of former Governor Steve Beshear.
