Governor of Colorado
The Governor of Colorado is the head of the state government and is responsible for enforcing state laws, overseeing the executive branch, and managing the state's budget. The governor also has the power to sign or veto legislation passed by the Colorado General Assembly, which consists of the state Senate and House of Representatives.
Elected to a four-year term, the governor can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The current governor, as of October 2023, is Jared Polis, a member of the Democratic Party. The governor's office is located in the Colorado State Capitol in Denver.
