Jared Polis is an American politician and businessman who has served as the Governor of Colorado since January 2019. He is a member of the Democratic Party and was the first openly gay man elected as a governor in the United States. Before becoming governor, Polis represented Colorado's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2009 to 2019.
