Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
The Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Hudson River in New York. It connects the towns of Tarrytown and South Nyack, replacing the old Tappan Zee Bridge. The bridge opened to traffic in 2017 and is named after former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, who served from 1983 to 1994.
The bridge features two main spans and has a total length of approximately 3.1 miles. It includes pedestrian and bicycle paths, promoting safe travel across the river. The design aims to enhance traffic flow and improve safety for commuters in the region.
