Government of Canada
The Government of Canada is the federal administration responsible for governing the country. It operates under a parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy, meaning that the monarch, currently Queen Elizabeth II, is the head of state, while the Prime Minister, currently Justin Trudeau, is the head of government. The government is divided into three branches: the executive, legislative, and judicial.
The legislative branch consists of two houses: the House of Commons and the Senate. Members of the House of Commons are elected by the public, while Senators are appointed. The government is responsible for creating and enforcing laws, managing public services, and representing Canada on the international stage.
