Gothic Style
Gothic Style is an architectural and artistic movement that emerged in Europe during the late Middle Ages, around the 12th century. It is characterized by features such as pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses, which allowed for taller structures and larger windows. Notable examples include the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris and the Chartres Cathedral in France.
In addition to architecture, Gothic Style influenced sculpture, painting, and literature. Gothic art often includes intricate details and religious themes, reflecting the spiritual focus of the time. The style eventually evolved into the Gothic Revival in the 19th century, which sought to revive these medieval aesthetics.
