Gosbank
Gosbank, officially known as the State Bank of the USSR, was the central bank of the Soviet Union from 1921 until its dissolution in 1991. It was responsible for managing the country's monetary policy, issuing currency, and overseeing the banking system. Gosbank played a crucial role in the planned economy of the Soviet Union, controlling credit and financial resources.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Gosbank was restructured and transformed into the Bank of Russia, which now serves as the central bank of the Russian Federation. This transition marked a significant shift towards a more market-oriented financial system in the post-Soviet era.
