Gomez Galaxy
The Gomez Galaxy, also known as NGC 1672, is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 60 million light-years away in the constellation Dorado. It is notable for its bright central bar structure and well-defined spiral arms, which are rich in star formation.
Discovered in 1835 by the astronomer John Herschel, the Gomez Galaxy is classified as a type of SAB(rs)bc, indicating its intermediate spiral characteristics. Observations of this galaxy have provided valuable insights into the processes of star formation and the dynamics of galactic structures.
