Gobrecht dollar
The Gobrecht dollar is a silver coin that was minted in the United States from 1836 to 1839. Designed by engraver Christian Gobrecht, it was the first official silver dollar produced by the U.S. Mint since the Flowing Hair dollar of 1795. The coin features a depiction of Liberty in a seated position on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse, symbolizing strength and freedom.
Only a limited number of Gobrecht dollars were produced, making them highly sought after by collectors. The coin is notable for its artistic design and historical significance, representing a transition in American coinage during the early 19th century.
