Goalkeeping
Goalkeeping is a specialized position in the sport of soccer, where the player, known as the goalkeeper, is responsible for preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goalkeeper stands in front of the goal and uses their hands, body, and quick reflexes to block shots on target. They are the only player allowed to use their hands within the penalty area.
In addition to stopping goals, goalkeepers also organize the defense and communicate with teammates. They often initiate attacks by distributing the ball to defenders or midfielders. A skilled goalkeeper can significantly influence the outcome of a match through their performance and decision-making.
