Gmina
A "Gmina" is the basic administrative unit in Poland, similar to a municipality or commune. It serves as the local government for a specific area, which can include towns, villages, or rural regions. Gminas are responsible for various local services, such as education, infrastructure, and public safety, and they play a crucial role in managing community needs.
There are three types of Gminas: urban, rural, and urban-rural. An urban Gmina consists of a city or town, while a rural Gmina covers a countryside area. An urban-rural Gmina includes both urban and rural elements, providing a blend of services to diverse populations within its boundaries.
