Global Alliance for Rabies Control
The Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC) is an international organization dedicated to eliminating rabies as a public health threat. Founded in 2007, GARC works to raise awareness about rabies prevention, promote vaccination for pets, and support communities in managing rabies outbreaks. Their efforts focus on education, research, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including governments and non-profit organizations.
GARC also coordinates the World Rabies Day, celebrated annually on September 28, to highlight the importance of rabies prevention and control. By fostering partnerships and sharing resources, GARC aims to reduce the number of rabies-related deaths and improve global health outcomes.
