Glider Towing
Glider towing is a method used to launch gliders, which are aircraft designed to fly without an engine. In this process, a powered aircraft, often called a tow plane, is used to pull the glider into the sky. The tow plane ascends to a certain altitude, allowing the glider to release from the tow line and glide freely.
Once released, the glider can soar using rising air currents, known as thermals, to gain altitude and extend its flight. This technique is popular in soaring sports, as it provides an efficient way to get gliders airborne and allows pilots to enjoy the experience of silent flight.
